A string of disappearances have been reported across the last few weeks, all located in the Crags district area.
No details about the victim’s identity have been released, but camera footage from a stoplight at the entrance to the Ishmael shows them crossing the bridge into a blindspot; however, footage from a traffic camera on the other end of the bridge does not show them reappearing.
The other two disappearances occurred in a very similar way, the victims were a man and a woman—Oliver Cumpt: a war vet turned speaker for the Novel Saints Church, and Eva Aurora: local ship technician, respectively. Both were last seen late evening, and disappeared in a blindspot. Some personal belongings have been recovered, all showing signs of normal wear with some dark staining. The families are distraught.
You wake up. It's dark out and your alarm is going off. It's the weekend, and you thought you hadn't set it at all, much less this early. Might as well make the most of it.
The acting Chief of Police has issued a statement regarding the ordeal: “This is a chaotic time for us in regards to other events. But I promise we have our best men on it, we ensure that every resource available is allocated to this, no time is wasted."

The rest of that press broadcast was devoted to how she and her team were working with various federal and private agencies in preparation for the influx of pilgrims to the city expected within a few days. A few of the strategies listed were dispatching armed H.W.A.T units for crowd control, clearing out parking lots and open spaces in or around the Hyperion ejecta radius for campsites, and pausing most local utilities to redirect manpower. "The Hyperites have been inextricably intertwined with the history of our planet; in the aftermath of the founders' messy touchdown, they were the colony's sole chance of survival. For this precious anniversary I hope that we as a community can come together and repay the faithful for the opportunity to gaze up at our new stars." She stated. When asked about how most non-faithful citizens would be impacted by this plan, she shrugged and said simply “They’ll manage, three days is not a very long time.”
You take a tenative step forwards. Your foot lands heavily on the edge of a thick plastic disk. A notable highlight was when a few hackers attempted to hijack the chat with anti-establishment messages, only to be quickly and hilariously shut down by the event tenders.
